Dear Amazing Women!

My father, handsome in his flight suit climbed out of his plane.

Jumping down onto the tarmac, he scanned the crowd for us,

his family.

We had been standing there for hours, waiting for the planes

to fly in from the carrier.

When they arrived, I could see the jets lined up to land,

one after the other.

I held my ears against the deafening noise with a mixture of

fear and anticipation.

It had been six months since we had said goodbye.

No telephone calls, very few letters.

Who was this man?

Namaste

Leslie
