Dear Amazing Women!
She weaves her story line among the trees at the edge of the forest. As it unfolds, she goes around a long forgotten campfire, its ashes soft and silvery in the filtered moonlight. Tripping over roots, falling over rocks, she goes deeper into the woods. The farther she goes, the darker it becomes, the moon no longer able to penetrate the canopy of leaves. The lack of light, the loss of shadow frightens her, the spinner of this yarn. But she is determined to tell her tale even as her line begins to unravel. It frays and falls apart. She loses it completely and must go back. Retracing her steps, she retrieves the last thread of her story and tying it to her finger goes ever deeper into the woods. Spooked by the night sounds of the forest, she almost turns back when she hears the distant screech of an owl. The knowledge that she is the only one who can continue this arduous journey motivates her to forge ahead. As she crosses a creek, she finds her way blocked by a fallen tree. She sits down to consider her next course of action, knowing it will take all her skill and determination to surmount this obstacle. At dawn the outline of the forest slowly begins to emerge. Realizing the tree blocking her way is too large to climb over, she decides she must go around it in order to complete her odyssey. Although this is more difficult because the path has not been cleared and she is now in unfamiliar territory, she is invigorated by the novel landscape. Infused with this new energy and able to see clearly, she plots the last passage of her voyage. She now knows the direction she must travel to reach her destination, and she realizes her line is no longer becoming tangled because her way is unobstructed and her mind is focused on the final chapter of her journey.
