The Glass Bowl

Dear Amazing Women!

Now that I have grown spiritually, things do not upset me as they once did. In the past the slightest thing often caused me to be angry at myself or someone else.  As you know, if you are going to let every little thing upset you, you are going to be upset much of the time. Not only do I no longer get upset, but I have also begun to gain insights and see messages in my mishaps. This happened a few mornings ago, and I was surprised at my reaction. For breakfast I enjoy having a bowl of fruit. I start out by putting some mandarin oranges in a large deep glass cereal bowl. I like the oranges to be cold so I put the bowl in the freezer while I fix the rest of my breakfast. On this day as I took the bowl out of the freezer, I dropped it. I stood a few moments in shock as I looked down at the hundreds of glass shards and splinters. In the middle of it all sat the mandarin oranges just as I had placed them in the bowl minutes before. They had not moved but were in a perfect circle. I realized how far I have come along my spiritual path when I said to myself with loving compassion, “Oh, Leslie sweetheart.” I never felt angry or upset with myself. I just started cleaning it up and when I was finished, I said to myself, “Okay, let’s start over.” Later, I thought about that image and thought it was a message about how when life shatters around us if we stay centered as the oranges did, it is much easier to clean up the mess! What a wonderful way to live!

Namaste,

Leslie
